These ions join together and become plasma. The gases within the pixels send out an ultraviolet light which light up each pixel. This results in the image on the plasma screen.
Besides their improved picture quality, the advantage of plasma television sets is that the thin monitors can fit nicely on a table, counter or be mounted on a wall. The plasma sets produce high quality colors and allow for better contrast ratio between dark and light colors, thereby giving off clearer and more powerful pictures.
Although consumers love their new plasma television sets, they have remained concerned over the high consumption of energy required to run them. They are expensive to use at a time when consumers are looking for energy efficiency instead of energy waste. These problems may be a thing of the past as a new generation of plasma television sets are in the process of being introduced.
